About Me

Hi, I’m Lauren ♡

I’m Lauren, the artist behind parkinglotbambi. I’m an Arizona-based painter with a love for colorful, whimsical, slightly strange things. My work is inspired by animals, nostalgia, everyday life, and whatever else happens to get stuck in my head long enough to become a painting.

I primarily work in oil paint, creating everything from original paintings and custom commissions to tiny portraits of very loved pets. My love for pet portraits actually started with my first cat, Socks, who lived to be 16 years old. After losing her, I understood even more how meaningful it can be to have something tangible that captures the little face and personality you loved for so many years.

"I want each portrait to feel like more than just a picture of an animal, but a small piece of someone you love."

When I’m not painting, I’m usually spending time with my cats, Tony and Terry, who are equal parts studio companions, distractions, and recurring sources of inspiration.
